Dec 2011. During the time of giving, Nimnicht Buick GMC and Chevrolet employees joined together in a food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank of Jacksonville Fl. For one month the employees brought in canned and nonperishable goods for others during these difficult times. After 6 large bins where filled, they went even farther and collected over $150 to help purchase even more goods to donate. On Dec. 20th all of the donations were collected  and taken to Second Harvest. We are very proud to say that together, both stores donated over 400 lbs of goods!

Dec. 17th Nimnicht Chevrolet hosted the OutDoor Show at the dealership on Cassat Ave. Since Nimnicht was the main sponsor of the event the 1010 AM radio show did a live show at the dealership. Jeff Lageman, Kevin Faver, Kurt Waltz and Big Bill were all at the event and on air. The show started at 7 AM but the excitement started much earlier than that. By 6 in the morning there were around 20 different vendors, such as Atlantic Coast Marine, T. Allen Rods and Hunt Life, all showing off their goods and passing out gifts to all that had attended. With over 400 people a great time was had by all and there were many give aways of shirts, fishing poles, watches, all the way up to once in a life time fully paid for hunting and fishing trips. Ribs, chicken wings and brisket were smoked on the lot by the pros. for lunch and Dunkin Donuts provided a huge variety of baked goods as well as coffee and hot coco. Thanks to all that attended for making this an event to remember!

Nov. 18th Nimnicht Chevrolet sponsored an Ice Cream Party for Chaffee Trails Elementary Nimnicht Chevrolet attended Chaffee Trails Fall Festival and helped judge the classes pumpkin decorating contest. ( which was very hard because they were all so good ) The two classes that won celebrated their victory with an Ice Cream Party that Nimnicht Chevrolet was proud to present them with. The kids had a great time and we here at Nimnicht Chevrolet are very proud supporters of Chaffee Trails Elementary.

From February through April 2011 the Customer Care Center joined together with David Hawkins at Navy Ortega League at NAS Jax. Together we helped them raise $6,000 for the youth baseball group. This helped to get our name out to the community at the same time supporting the youth by raising money to help pay for equipment they were in need of. Nimnicht Chevrolet is looking forward to many more seasons of helping out with our Chevy Youth Baseball Group.

Nov. 12th Nimnicht Chevrolet had a Big Birthday Bash at their dealership for the customers and employees to enjoy the celebration. WQIK 99.1 and Robbie Rose joined in on the festivities as Nimnicht celebrated their 70th year and Chevrolet celebrated their 100th year! Larry’s Giant Subs provided sandwiches and a huge birthday cake for everyone to enjoy. There was lots of balloons, food and music for all to enjoy as well as face painting for the kids.

The Second Annual Northeast Florida Veg Fest was held Nov. 5th in the beautiful Riverside Park and Historic 5 Points Theatre. Northeast Florida Veg Fest was presented by The Girls Gone Green, Inc. a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization devoted to increasing awareness about how to improve the quality of our lives by improving the world around us. Nimnicht Chevrolet was very excited to display our brand new Chevy Volt! The Volt was a huge hit stirring lots of excitement about it’s all electrical powered engine! Many intrigued passerbys stopped to sit inside the Volt and start up the vehicle to be surprised at how quiet it really was. For many people it was the first time they had seen the new Chevy Volt and it got a lot of attention

Chaffee Trails had their annual Fall Festival on Nov. 4th and Nimnicht Chevrolet proudly supported this local school! A great time was had by all who attended, with lots of games provided by the teachers and the students. The cool, crisp air was filled with laughter, music and wonderful smells of popcorn, candied apples and other yummy snacks. Nimnicht Chevrolet filled the bed of a Silverado with hay, pumpkins, and scarecrows for the family photo booth as well as provided many different items for the school’s silent auction to help them raise extra money. The biggest hit was their pumpkin decorating contest! It was the school’s first year for this contest but it will not be the last. The winning class for the pumpkin contest will be celebrating with an ice cream party sponsored be Nimnicht Chevrolet.

On October 27th, Nimnicht Chevrolet supported our local Elementary School by helping raise money at their Fall Festival. We loaded up one of our Silverado trucks with hay, pumpkins and scarecrows for a family photo booth. It was a great success and we were able to help them raise some extra money. We know how the budget cuts have affected our community schools and we take great pride in being able to support them in every way we can.

The future stars of the PGA TOUR returned to TPC Sawgrass for the second annual Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open. The Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open presented by Planters generated more than $1.6 million for charity. Nimnicht Family of Dealerships supported the event by loaning out more than 20 vehicles for the use of the volunteers and players, as well as hosted a “putt to Winn” contest, with a winning prize being the 2011 Buick Regal! Our own, Mrs. Anne Nimnicht headed up the volunteer team again this year.. her and her teams efforts made this years tournament another successful one!

 

Oct 17th Nimnicht Chevrolet was the sole sponser for this gathering at Hidden Hills We had a great turnout for this event helping to raise money for the SJEDS elementary school Nimnicht Chevrolet had two hole in one give aways After the enjoyable fundraising golf tournament lunch was prepared in the Country Club A wonderful time was had by all the supporters that came out and we are excited about getting together again next year

 

Helping our community with our local animal sheter's mission of No More Homeless Pets, this Fundraising walk helped save many lives. We took our new Equinox to show off at this event as our dog friendly vehicle A large group of supports had a great time dressed up in their Halloween customs with their two and four legged “kids” as they walked around the many other business supporters collecting their candies and dog biscuits. There was a costume contest that was a great success as well. We enjoyed the opportunity to of been a part of this event and are looking forward to next year’s!

August 27th the Customer Care Center joined together with Doug Black at Oakleaf Plantation for Chevy Youth Soccer. $735 was raised for the youth soccer group. This helped to get our name out to the community, as well as letting them know about our UpGrade program at the same time supporting the youth by raising money to help pay for equipment they are in need of. Nimnicht will be scheduling more fund raising events to raise $10,000. Looking forward to many more seasons of helping out with our Chevy Youth Soccer Group

August 20th the Customer Care Center held a Blizzard Bash for the community. We had Sno Cones for our customers and Planet Smoothie also attended the event and provided smoothie samples to them as well. Our new UpGrade Program was the highlight of the event

July 23rd the Customer Care Center held a cookout for the community. Goodie Bags were distributed among the vistors with coupons from surrounding businesses. Nimnicht had drawings held for apple pie give aways as well as two tickets to a Brittany Spears concert

“FORE Our Students” Charity Golf Tournament was designed to help save the Golf Teams in OUR Duval County public high schools. Due to certain cuts in education spending by our state, the Duval County School Board has decided to cut the Boys & Girls teams from their budget for the 2011/2012 season. This means a potential of 17 high schools in Duval County will no longer offer OUR high school students golf teams.
